I am using my tablet right now to try and catch up on Module 4. To be honest, I am not a fan of it. I definitely prefer a full size keyboard to a touch screen. Everything seems to take me longer on the tablet but I enjoy the compact size in some situations and the long battery life.
In general, I only use my tablet to check email or light browsing. I only use my BlackBerry phone for calling and texting unless I have no other options.

Just like you Vida, I do most of my schoolwork on my laptop. I do not have a tablet. I use my iPhone mostly for emails. I have all my email accounts set up one my phone (except for centennial email). I tried setting it up on my phone but it just would not work. Humber College has a specific email server called First Mail that needs to be downloaded to the phone in order to have Humber email set up. I downloaded the app and it works on my phone.
More about phones inside the classroom…. Recently, TDSB has allowed students to use their smart phones inside the classroom. The idea is, while the teacher is covering a topic in class, students can research the topic online during class time, and have a more productive classroom experience overall.

Indeed, the tablet/smarties are still in the "consumer" devices category, while notebooks/desktops are more in the producer and now less consumer category. I too prefer to use the laptop for "producing". I've used tablets mainly for consuming (reading email, browsing internet etc).

I think the investment in mobile learning has not lauched effectively. Like others in the comments suggested I would rather use my PC than my mobile device. Once it becomes something that is much more effective, would love to try it out.

I do not have a tablet and use my laptop for my work.
A teacher friend of mine loves using her iPad and especially when she attaches the keyboard. She has a first generation iPad where the screen is larger.
I would use a tablet as long as it had a keyboard and a good size screen.

I have just used my laptop for the same reason as you - convenience of the keyboard and larger screen. I am planning to upgrade my phone to an Iphone and hope it will provide more possibilities than my current Blackberry.
